The Pontifical Mission Societies of English Canada with all its generous benefactors offer grateful prayers to God for His continued shepherding His People through the successors of St Peter and particularly for the new Pope, Leo XIV.

Now entrusted with the universal solitude of the Church the Holy Father brings to his office the experience of being a North American, an Augustinian, and a Bishop from Peru. He has been involved for years as a missionary priest and bishop and so knows and appreciates the role of the Pontifical Mission Societies in the spread of the Good News and the support of the dioceses throughout the world.
Later in May I will be in Rome for the Annual Meeting of the National Directors of PMS from around the world. There has been scheduled an audience with the Pope; hopefully it can be fulfilled. In any event, be assured of my prayers for you in Rome during this Jubilee Year.
May the election of Pope Leo XIV be a sign and direction for all of us, Pilgrims of Hope.
Bishop John A. Boissonneau
National Director
